Lee
Lee Roy Selmon blends the benefits of a football scholarship within his family with the benefits of community service. The first line of his family was that his father was the youngest of nine kids raised by Eufala by Lucious Selmon. Two football. He is among three brothers who were players for Oklahoma. All three of them were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy received the Outland & Lombardi Awards for being the best lineman of the USA. For three years, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy as the starter. They also won 2 national titles. In 1975, he received his third scholarship, and was recognized as the National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon earned a degree in education. Lee Roy's fourth volunteer service was ten-hours per week as a volunteer in the college. After college he settled in Tampa and played for nine seasons with the Buccaneers were the all-pro 3 times, and began an entrepreneurial career. In 1988, while working as an account representative at First Florida Bank of Tampa, he worked with Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. There was no doubt that, in 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy as one of the 10 outstanding youngsters across the country. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and was a tall of 6-2. In his time at college, he was the captain of the team of 1975. In 1993, Roy joined the University of South Fla's athletic department as the assistant director. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988 the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994, and then the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. The Selmons' parents Lucious and Mary Selmon Jr. were awarded the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation. The award was presented by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
