Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone (pronounced [di:pIka p@dUko:ne":" or "pa:dUko:n]; born 5 January 1986) is an Indian actress who works predominantly in Hindi film productions. The actress has won three Filmfare Awards have been given to her, which makes her one of India's most popular and well-paid actors. Time magazine ranked her as one of the top 100 individuals throughout the world in 2018. She was also awarded with the TIME100 Impact Award for 2022. Padukone was the daughter to Badminton's champion Prakash Padukone. Padukone was born in and grew up in Bangalore. She competed in national badminton championships as a teenager but she gave up playing for the sake of becoming a model. In 2006 she made her acting debut acting in the Kannada movie Aishwarya. Padukone also played a two-part part alongside Shah Rukh Khan in her debut Bollywood release, a romance Om Shanti Om (2007), which won her the Filmfare Award for Best Female debut. Padukone was praised for her part as the lead character in Love Aaj Kal, but later suffered a backlash.
